The Connections IOP program is a wonderfully unique IOP in the Austin area. We have taken decades of experience in psychiatric care and outpatient treatment and created a program that meets the need for intensive treatment in a warm and comfortable setting. Our program is the only mental health IOP program in Austin providing psychiatric care not affiliated with a psychiatric hospital. Our clinical staff is small and experienced with specialized training in the David Burns CBT processes. Our facilities are nestled in private practice in the beautiful Westlake area. Our mission is to provide loving, personalized, and consistent therapeutic interventions to clients who seek support with crisis in order to manage feelings of anxiety and/or depression in order to avoid hospitalization and return to their generally high functioning lives.
A typical week in IOP involves attending therapy Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9a to noon. We have designed our program so that individuals can continue to work and receive support from their families while in treatment. We value communication with any current behavioral health clinicians, family members, and other sources of support for our clients. We tailor the program goals of each client to include, psychiatric evaluation and medication management as needed, psychological evaluations, individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy.
Our program has expanded to evening programming Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9pm. We are now accepting new clients.
The goals of our program are:
Provide comprehensive, experienced, consistent therapy for clients in crisis.
Utilize all available resources to enrich client experience and promote growth and feelings of support.
Teach clinically effective coping skills that empower clients in their lives.
Assess for safety daily and provide support in crisis.
Improve skills for interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, social skills building.
Increase awareness of emotional inheritance and greater awareness of emotional triggers and how to manage associated feelings.
Manage and identify stress inducing situations and creative problem solving and skill building to minimize the effects of stress.
Aftercare programming and care for clients who have previously worked with any members of our team in any IOP.
Mindfulness training and education about affect regulation and dysregulation and tools to help clients improve skills.
Powerful group experiences that challenge clients to examine feelings of sadness, anger, fear, worry, as well as other emotions and to be lovingly guided to examine and practice giving words to this process with others.
Refer clients to resources in the community as needed for any specialized treatment needs.
Engage clients in treatment with clinicians that have a minimum of 2 years experience working in group, individual, and family therapy, and therapeutic case management.
We are affordable. We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Behavioral Health, Cigna, and are in the process of joining other private insurances. Clients may use out of network benefits.
